BaT Auction: 1989 BMW 325i Convertible
This 1989 BMW 325i Convertible shows just under 100k miles and is powered by a 2.5L inline-six coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Alpine White over blue leather, this example is said to remain unmodified and was owned in Texas and Arkansas before its recent purchase by the seller in Iowa. A replacement soft top was installed prior to the seller’s ownership and the A/C has been converted to R134a. This E30 convertible is now being offered for sale with approximately 50 pages of receipts beginning in 2010, an owner’s manual, a repair manual, a car cover, a clean Autocheck report, and a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Alpine White and the seller does not believe any paint or bodywork have been conducted. No accidents are listed on the included Autocheck report. 14” bottlecap wheels are wrapped in Kumho Solus tires.
Standard equipment includes power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and power mirrors. A replacement soft top was installed some time ago and two small holes are present in the material as detailed in the gallery.
The interior features blue leather sport seats, power windows, and a factory stereo with a remote-controlled 12-disc changer located in the trunk. Some cracks in the top of the rear seat are noted, and the seller reports that while the on board computer functions, the light bar is currently burnt out. The air-conditioning has been converted to R134a and is said to blow cold. 99,845 miles are shown on the odometer.
Power is supplied by an M20B25 2.5-liter straight-six and a 4-speed 4HP22 automatic transmission. The fluids were changed and tires were rotated one month ago. Copies of receipts are viewable in the gallery, and maintenance performed since 2006 has reportedly included the following:
- Rear main seal
- Fuel pump
- McPhersen struts
- Sway bar and end links
- Rack and pinion tie rod
- Lower control arm
- Transmission re-seal
Additional undercarriage photos are viewable in the gallery.
A provided Autocheck report lists no issues and shows history in Texas and Arkansas. A walk-around and cold-start video can be seen below.
