BaT Auction: 1991 Mitsubishi Delica 4WD Turbodiesel at No Reserve
1991 Mitsubishi Delica is a right-hand drive 4×4 example that was acquired in Japan in 2016 by the seller, who has since brought it to Indiana. A 2.4L turbodiesel inline-four sends power to all four wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. The van is finished in white over brown and the cabin features four skylights as well as club seating for five in the rear passenger area. Aftermarket items include a voltmeter and stereo, while service within the past two years consisted of an alternator rebuild in 2017 and brake work including a rebuilt master cylinder. This Delica is sold with import documents, recent records, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.
Body panels are finished in white with a matching front bull bar, which extends downward to offer approach-angle protection to underbody components. A Crystal Lite Roof includes four skylight panes over the rear of the cabin.
Additional accessories mud flaps and a set of passenger-side mirrors oriented to accommodate the right-hand driving position.
Seating is finished in brown fabric throughout. Interior modifications include a modern CD stereo with USB, an aftermarket voltmeter, and a cup holder installed by a prior owner in Japan. The odometer shows 214k kilometers (~133k miles), with about 7000 kilometers added by the seller since 2016. The red item under the glovebox is a Japanese-market road flare.
The rear of the cabin contains reconfigurable seating for five. The Crystal Light Roof is equipped with motorized sun shades, one of which does not operate correctly due to broken strings according to the seller. Worn fabric is also noted on the side window curtains.
The 2.4-liter turbodiesel four is accessed from under the front bench seat. Recent work included a brake master cylinder rebuild and fluid change as well as an overhaul of the oil-cooled alternator in 2017. An oil and filter change has also been carried out. Shifting is through a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive lockout.
Corrosion is most evident in the rear according to the seller. Both high and low 4WD ranges are said to work properly along with the auto-locking front hubs.
The seller is including import documents, older Japanese paperwork, and service records from his ownership.
