Lamborghini is on a roll, having sold more vehicles in the first six months of the year than it did in the entire year in 2013.
The numbers recently published by the Italian firm reveal total deliveries of 2,327 cars to customers around the world from January to June.
The 11 percent increase was mostly due to the Huracan, which attracted 1,604 buyers, 204 more compared to the same period in the previous year.
At the same time, the Aventador was chosen by 673 clients. Lamborghini says that sales of the flagship supercar are on the same level as in the first six months of 2017.
Meanwhile, deliveries of the Urus haven’t begun yet, as they’re said to commence later this month. Thus, aided by their super SUV, Lamborghini will probably surpass the 6,000-unit mark before the end of the year, reaching their initial goal announced back when the Urus was still in development.
“After crossing the billion Euro turnover threshold for the first time in 2017, and with the first deliveries of our Urus super SUV starting, the stage is set for us to enter a new dimension for the company, while never compromising the exclusivity of our brand”, commented the company’s head honcho, Stefano Domenicali.
Besides the Urus, Lamborghini has yet another ace up its sleeve: the Aventador SVJ. The upcoming, track-focused version of the supercar will feature updated aerodynamic and some other work carried beneath the skin, alongside a likely bump in power, from the Aventador S’ 740PS (730hp / 545kW) to 780-790PS (769-779hp / 574-581kW).
Moreover, the Aventador SVJ might have already set a new record for production cars around the Nurburgring, with a rumored time of 6 minutes and 45 seconds, five seconds faster than the SV, though that hasn’t been confirmed by Lamborghini yet.
