Progressive Insurance Hilariously Spoofs Chevy ‘Real People, Not Actors’ Ads: Video

0

Chevrolet’s “Real People, Not Actors” advertisements have caused a flurry of buzz since their inception years ago. Despite their annoying tendencies, Chevy insists they’re working and have helped change perceptions of the brand.

Along the way, we’ve seen not-so-PG rated spoofs, but this is the first time another company has ripped the concept in a hilarious manner. Progressive Insurance has debuted a new ad titled “Real Actors, Not People” to highlight the insurer’s services.

The ad features all of the stereotypical elements of the Chevy commercials, including a small room that transforms into a larger room, large walls that open to reveal more space, and an over-enthused participant.

The surprises don’t stop there as one actor proclaims the only thing that could make things better is if his mom were present. As she drops in from the sky.

Overall, it’s a pretty excellent spoof of Chevy’s ad strategy and definitely worth a laugh. Check it out above.
