Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Videos Will Make You Put Them On Loop
Dodge pulled the plug on the Demon a few months ago, but the Challenger lineup still counts two very fast models: the regular Hellcat and the Redeye.
The former is offered with a Widebody Package, 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, Brembo brakes and a few updates made inside. A minor bump in power lifts the output of the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine from 707hp (717PS / 527kW) and 650lb-ft (881Nm) to 717hp (727PS / 535kW) and 656lb-ft (888Nm) of torque.
However, it’s the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye that you’ll want to check out closer, as it the supercharged HEMI V8 has been pumped up to 797hp (808PS / 594kW) and 707lb-ft (957Nm) of torque. The FCA-owned brand claims that the Redeye can sprint to 60mph (96km/h) in just 3.4 seconds and max out at 203mph (326km/h), plus it does the quarter mile in 10.8sec at 131mph (210km/h).
Dodge is asking $69,650 for the base Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, which is steep, but it’s still some $15k less than what the Demon used to cost. The same kind of cash could get you a new BMW M4 Coupe, with a 444hp (450PS / 331kW) twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder that goes from 0 to 60mph (0-96km/h) in 4.1sec.
At this point, you might be asking yourselves why we chose to detail the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye again. The answer lies in the videos that follow, which demonstrate a few examples on the track and on the open road. The best thing about the clips is that they don’t feature any background music and the only symphony you’ll hear is from the supercharger, every now and then. Thus, you may want to clear your schedule for the next 13 minutes or so and just sit back and relax while watching the muscle car being driven in full HD.
