Mercedes Sprinter Hymermobil B MC T
At the Mercedes-Benz stand at Caravan Salon 2018 in Düsseldorf, the brand with the star will be presenting new camper vans based on the new Sprinter: the semi-integrated Hymermobil B-Class ModernComfort from HYMER and the Regent S from La Strada.
Hymermobil B-Class ModernComfort: first camper van based on the new Sprinter tractor head
The new B-Class ModernComfort (B-MC) from bodybuilder HYMER is the first camper van to be based on the tractor head variant of the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The combination of the Sprinter tractor head with the innovative and award-winning HYMER SLC chassis makes for an especially light and sturdy body of the B-Class ModernComfort. Other contributory factors are the GRP lightweight floor and HYMER’s familiar PUAL technology. Despite a floor plan of around seven metres in length, the B-MC comes with an unladen weight of 2900 kilograms. In addition, this combination makes for a permissible gross vehicle weight of up to 4500 kilograms.
HYMER also breaks new ground when it comes to the interior of the B-MC: the new electric parking brake in the Sprinter allows unobstructed access to the rear from between the driver’s and front-passenger seats – with the continuous single-level floor of the living area in the B-MC totally dispensing with the need for a step. The key design element of the living area is its strict lines in a gently sloping room arrangement of six degrees, which is also carried over to individual details. On the outside, the new Hymermobil impresses with its especially automotive looks.
The B-MC, which is available as an integrated or semi-integrated camper van, comes in three floor plan variants: 580 (6.99 metres, for B-MC T and B-MC I) and 680 (7.39 metres, for B-MC T and B-MC I) as well as 690 (7.39 metres with large queen-sized bed in the rear, for B-MC I). Depending on the floor plan, up to five people can travel in the new B-MC.
