BaT Auction: 1973 Jeep J2000
This 1973 Jeep J2000 is a 4×4 pickup finished in Butterscotch Gold over a tan cloth interior and powered by a 360ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The truck was recently acquired by the seller after years of storage with its previous owner in California. Subsequent service included installation of a new windshield, shocks, thermostat, spark plugs, and heater core as well as a carburetor rebuild and more. This J2000 is offered with recent service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
This J2000 is finished in Butterscotch Gold (490), the condition of which is shown up close in the gallery below along with the seller reported original badging and trim. A new windshield was recently installed. Rust spots are noted on the front corners.
The seller reports that the truck remained unregistered in storage for 16 years with its previous owner. White 15″ wheels are mounted with fresh 31″x10.50 Futura Scrambler APII tires, and new shocks were recently installed front and rear.
The cabin features tan cloth seats and matching dashboard, though no carpets are present. A period radio is retained in the dash. The 5-digit odometer reads just over 10k miles, with total mileage believed by the seller to be 110k.
The 360ci V8 is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case sending power to all four wheels. A recent service performed at Hi-Tech Automotive in Los Angeles included installation of a new heater core, belts, hoses, and brakes as well as an ignition tune-up and carburetor rebuild.
Additional photos showing the condition of the undercarriage, truck bed, and engine compartment are provided in the gallery below along with several recent service invoices and a period operator’s manual.
