BaT Auction: 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
This 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was purchased new in Reno, Nevada and moved to Arkansas in 2009. The previous owner relocated the vehicle to Kansas in 2012, and it now shows 87k miles. Power is provided by a 360ci V8 paired with a 3-speed TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission and an NP229 2-speed transfer case. Finished in white over a burgundy interior, this Jeep received a short block rebuild in March 2016 and a transmission rebuild in March 2017. The A/C was converted to R134 by the previous owner, and a 2018 service included installing a Team Grand Wagoneer skid plate for the fuel tank, a new sending unit, new steering gear, a tune-up with new belts, and a new exhaust. This Wagoneer is now being offered in Wichita with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Kansas title.
The exterior is finished in white with faux wood trim, and the seller believes that the left and right quarter panels were repaired for minor dents. 15×7″ cast aluminum wheels are wrapped in Goodyear tires, and the electric windows and mirrors are operational as seen in the following videos: rear window, driver’s window, driver-side rear, passenger’s window, and passenger-side rear.
An exterior walk-around video is provided above.
The interior is finished in burgundy leather with matching corduroy inserts, carpeting, and trim panels. This Grand Wagoneer is equipped with a factory cassette deck, a rear window defroster, cruise control, and power seats, with functionality of the latter shown here and here. The headliner is shown in the gallery below.
A switch for the Selec-Trac 4-wheel drive system is located beneath the wood-trimmed dashboard, and the 6-digit odometer displays approximately 87k miles. The seller has added about 200 miles during four months of ownership. A walk-through video of the interior can be seen here.
The 360ci AMC V8 is mated to a TorqueFlite A727 automatic transmission and Selec-Trac 4-wheel drive system with viscous New Process NP229 transfer case. A receipt documenting the transmission rebuild is provided in the gallery below, along with some receipts from the original owner.
The seller has provided an underside video above.
The Carfax report indicates no accidents, damage, or other issues. A driving video can be seen below, and additional videos of the Grand Wagoneer can be viewed here.
