BaT Auction: 2008 Audi RS4
This 2008 Audi RS4 is finished in Imola Yellow over black leather Recaro seats and features the optional Premium Package. The seller purchased this car from a local BMW dealership three years ago, and has since added approximately 5k miles. It now shows 83,500 miles, and the 4.2-liter V8 sends power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and Quattro system with Torsen differentials. Approximately 400 miles ago a $1,600 service was performed, including a carbon cleaning, an oil change, and the installation of a new battery. Additions include GMG mufflers, painted 2mm pinstripes, and tinted windows. This RS4 is now offered with a clear Carfax and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
This RS4 is one of approximately 2,000 sold in the US for the 2007-2008 model years, and one of 651 US-spec examples produced for the 2008 model year. The B7 RS4 featured flared wheel arches, allowing for a wider track than that of the contemporary A4 and S4. Cosmetic imperfections include road rash and a small crack in the front spoiler, hazing on the headlight lenses, and one area of lower cladding slightly separated from the door, the latter of which is pictured in the gallery.
Two-tone painted 2mm pinstripes have been applied above the upper belt line as shown in the gallery. This RS4 retains factory 19″ alloy wheels, which are currently mounted with a set of Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires. Per the seller, an area of curb rash is present on one wheel.
Carbon fiber accents and 12-way power/heated Recaro seats were standard in the US-spec RS4, along with dual-zone automatic climate control, a power sunroof, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, and more. This example is fitted with the Premium Package, which consists of Audio Navigation Plus, auto-dimming mirrors, a memory driver’s seat, rain and light sensors, a Bose sound system, heated rear seats, a power rear sunshade, and manual rear side shades.
The cabin features a set of rubber all-weather floor mats. The rear trunk compartment and battery area are also shown in the gallery.
The specially-tuned 4.2-liter V8 produced 420 horsepower at 7,200 rpm and 317 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm when new. Shifting is through a 6-speed manual gearbox linked to a Quattro all-wheel drive system. During period testing, the RS4 accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and completed the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds at 109 mph. A recent service totaling $1,600 included engine carbon build-up cleaning, a well-known maintenance item on these RS4s, as well as an oil change and the installation of a new battery.
A video featuring this RS4 can be viewed above.
The accident-free Carfax reports four owners including the seller. It shows registration in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts from new, along with linear odometer readings and 24 service history records.
