This 1971 Porsche 911T was first sold in California and remained there with the previous owner for about 25 years until it was purchased by the seller in 2011 and relocated to Arizona. A top end rebuild of the swapped 2.7-liter flat-six was then performed along with a rebuild of the 5-speed manual transaxle and overhauls of the carburetors, brakes, and suspension. The body was also repainted in Signal Orange, S trim and bumpers were installed, and new 15″ Fuchs wheels were mounted. The work was finished in 2013, and approximately 3,400 miles have been added since. Records dating back to 1979 come with the car along with over $54k of invoices covering the rebuilds and paintwork. This 911T is now being offered with the original owner’s manual, blue California license plate, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

Paint and body work were performed after the seller trailered the car from California to Arizona in 2011. It was disassembled, stripped down to bare metal, and received rust repairs with new and donor sheetmetal. The body was then repainted in the original Signal Orange color. A side mirror from a 1972 911 replaced the original unit, and new windshield and window trim, seals, horn grilles, head and taillight bulbs, rear reflectors, engine lid grille, emblems, and chrome exhaust tip were installed.

New 911S rocker trim and bumpers were also installed after the paintwork was completed, though a crack in the rubber is now present on both rear bumperettes. Originally equipped with the steel wheels, the car has been fitted with 15″ Fuchs wearing Bridgestone Potenza tires with date codes from 2012.

Interior work included recovering the dash and the installation of a new headliner, RS-style door panels, rear parcel shelf assembly, retractable 3-point seat belts, and Perlon felt carpets. The seller notes that the passenger-side window is difficult to roll up and down.

The VDO gauges, instrument panel, and radio were repaired in 2011, and a new basketweave dash panel with 911T emblem was fitted. The 5-digit odometer was reset to zero at that time and currently indicates 3,400 miles.

A 2.7-liter flat-six from a 1977 911S was reportedly installed by the previous owner in the early 1990s. A top end rebuild of the engine was completed in November 2011, and the Weber carburetors were also overhauled. The work was performed by Porsche Technik of Flagstaff, Arizona, now known as Partsklassik, and is detailed in photographs of the invoices below.

In 2012, the suspension system was overhauled, with factory parts being rebuilt and powder coated when possible. Bilstein shocks and struts were installed, and the tie rods, control arms, a torsion bars, ball joints, and bearings were replaced. The brakes were also refreshed in 2012 with new rotors and master cylinder, and all four calipers were overhauled.
