This 1962 Jaguar MK II is powered by a 3.8-liter Buick V6 with 10.2:1 compression pistons, ported cylinder heads, and a Kenne Bell camshaft. The project was reportedly purchased as a shell from a tow truck driver on his way to a junkyard in 1985, and was subsequently refurbished over five years using parts obtained from XKs Unlimited and hot rod swap meets. The car took first place in class at the 2013 Ventura Sports & Race Cars Club show before going unused from 2013-2016 due to health issues. A GM 4-speed automatic transmission was installed in August 2017, just after Best Jaguar Saloon was earned at the 2017 Central Coast British Car Club show. This MK II is offered with spares, partial records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was painted green and had front end damage when acquired by the seller. A 2-stage respray in Toyota code 3H8 burgundy was carried out 10 years ago using supplies from House of Kolor, with photos of the process available in the gallery below. European-spec driving lights were sourced from Germany a year ago. Photos in the gallery show that the right fender was repainted in November 2018 to repair a small crack. The seller notes that the rear bumper would benefit from rechroming.

Knock-off 15″ wire wheels were fitted in 2009 and mounted with new tires in 2013. The seller checked the wheel alignment in August 2018. Wilwood Dynalite 4-piston calipers are equipped with Wilwood Smart pads, and the brake master cylinder was replaced around 2012. A replacement brake booster has been ordered due to a leak recently discovered in the current part.

The interior is finished in maroon vinyl and wood trim, which was refinished in 2001 and shows a crack on the left corner of the dashboard switch plate. Additional replacement wood trim pieces are included in the sale. A 3-spoke Nardi wheel is mounted to a GM tilting column, and the power steering system uses a GM pump and Bergeson U-joints.

TPI-Tech gauges feature an oil change reminder and top speed warning settings as well as a digital odometer showing 185 miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The seller replaced the wiring and equipped newer-style fuses and relays in 2000. The heater core is reportedly plumbed, however the controls are not connected.

The 3.8-liter Buick V6 reportedly dates from 1980 and was built with 10.2:1 compression pistons, mildly ported cylinder heads, a Kenne Bell camshaft, and modified exhaust manifolds. Accessories include an Edelbrock intake manifold and 500 CFM carburetor, a Holley 7 lb/hr fuel pump, Kenne Bell aluminum pulleys, and an ACCEL ignition coil and module. A custom aluminum radiator is fitted with a GM fan. The seller reports 55 psi of oil pressure when the engine is cold and 25-50 psi when hot. An oil change was performed in September 2018.

The 4-speed GM 200R4 automatic transmission was reportedly installed less than 50 miles ago in August 2017 along with a shifter from an XJ6. The seller states the transmission shifts hard from first to second gear and could use adjustment. The Positraction rear end features 3.73:1 gearing.

The front springs were cut and coil spacers added to account for the lighter Buick engine. Polyurethane bushings were sourced from XKs Unlimited and the front shocks were replaced in 2014, while new rears were installed in April 2018. The seller fabricated adjustable rear suspension links in July 2018 to fine-tune the pinion angle introduced by the non-original powertrain.
